Screen Space


Screen space is defined to be the square -1 < x,y < 1, z=0 in the xy plane.

To map this area onto device space, we overlay the device-space pixel array onto the screen-space area, as is shown below.

If we are given an array of pixels, the the corresponding width and height of a pixel is units in screen space. The four corners of the th pixel are given by

Given a point in screen space, the pixel that corresponds to the point is calculated by first converting the point to device-space coordinates, and then taking the floor of each.
