Blood Flow in the Aortic Arch

With new advanced in MRI technology, time-varying blood flow data can be acquired using 4D PC-MRI scanning. This image illustrates right-handed reverse flow of blood in the aortic arch, which has been extremely difficult to visualize in the past. Here, pathlines clearly show the vortical flow pattern.
