Academic Background
Chris began working with the
Visualization and Graphics Research Group
in the
Center for Image Processing and Integrated Computing (CIPIC) (now called the Institute for Data Analysis and Visualization (IDAV))
in 2000 as an undergraduate research assistant.
He graduated from the
University of California, Davis
in 2001 with a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering and a minor
in German.
In 2002, he earned his M.S. in
Computer Science.
Performing research under the guidance of Professor
Ken Joy,
Chris earned a Ph.D. in
Computer Science at UC Davis.
He focused primarily on the development of visualization techniques for
scattered data.
Chris's research interests also include volume visualization and
point-based rendering.
